Research is an interdisciplinary network of KISE staff across special needs education and disabilities, united by their commitment to carrying out research that helps achieve equality and social justice for persons with special needs and disabilities.

Our approach to research is grounded in both social model and human rights approaches, which recognize that disability is above all form of institutional discrimination and social exclusion, rather than a product of physical difference between individuals.

We actively welcome collaborations and have established professional links with research groups and institutions in Kenya and internationally. We also welcome individuals to discuss their own research, to study and to exchange ideas and to present their work in an academic research environment.
