The Kenya Institute of Special Education (KISE) is a government institution committed to improving educational opportunities for learners with special needs and disabilities. Established in 1986, KISE plays a pivotal role in enhancing inclusivity and accessibility in education through its specialized services. The institute focuses on equipping educators with the skills and knowledge required to cater to diverse learner needs, offering professional teacher training programs at diploma, certificate, and short course levels.

In addition to training, KISE conducts functional assessments and offers early interventions, therapies, and consultations through its well-equipped Assessment and Research Centre.
