We recently concluded a powerful outreach mission to Turkana and Wajir, taking inclusive education services directly to underserved communities.

Through our Functional Assessment Outreach that ran for two weeks, we identified the learning and support needs of children with disabilities especially those with visual and hearing impairments. This exercise was part of the ongoing "Pamoja Tusome Project" focusing on LEGO Braille Bricks, implemented in partnership with UNICEF Kenya, Hapag-Lloyd and The LEGO Foundation.

Turkana Outreach:

KISE conducted assessments at Lodwar Mixed Comprehensive & Integrated School and St. Lucy Turkana Integrated Comprehensive School. We identified learning barriers and provided interventions for children with visual and hearing impairments. Through innovative tools like LEGO Braille Bricks, we created opportunities for hands-on accessible learning. The outreach impacted over 300 children and youth across the county.

Wajir Outreach:

The team visited Got-Ade Primary School and Islamic Call Foundation Integrated School, offering functional assessments with the support of our fully equipped Functional Assessment Truck. We provided mobility aids, vision and hearing screenings and therapy services, all delivered by our expert personnel. The outreach brought inclusive services right to the heart of the community closing the gap in access and support.
